 Caterham Rugby Festival Colts Runners Up

On Saturday 2nd March Caterham hosted their annual Colts Rugby Festival. Caterham started very brightly comfortably defeating Aberdour with tries from James Watt, Owen Cawood, Toby Carter, Finalay Arnold and brace from Nathaniel Arnold. In the second game Caterham came across Hawthorns and in a hard fought Cateham lost 14-7 with a try coming from Toby Carter. In the final group game Caterham defeated Cumnor House playing some fantastic rugby 21-7. In the semi final Caterham played the pre tournament favourites Hilden Grange who had dominated their group. In a very physical encounter Caterham showed incredible discipline in defence and eventually ran out winners 14-7 thanks to tries from Owen Cawood and Max Roberson. George Thomas was outstanding in defence throughout the game. In the final Caterham were to face the Hawthorns again. After a powerful start, Cateham took the lead after an immense forward drive with Dinil crossing the try line. Just before half time Hawthorns pulled a try back and the scored stayed at 7-7 till the last play. Hawthorns won a scrum on the 22 and after some good quick hands scored in the corner causing Caterham heartbreak after they had dominated the game. The boys are to be congratulated on an outstanding mornings rugby. James Watt was player of the tournament with his fantastic leadership skills and commitment to the cause.
